Vi è mai capitato di guardarvi negli occhi… non allo specchio… ma guardarvi proprio negli occhi? Nella vita capita di doverlo fare per essere coerenti con e per se stessi, per gli altri e per l’etica del proprio lavoro. Dedico la prima edizione di questo nuovo festival a coloro che mi hanno consigliato di guardarmi negli occhi, a coloro che mi hanno sostenuto e voluto in questa nuova avventura. Il nostro festival è un vero meridiano; una linea immaginaria che traccia un percorso, concerto dopo concerto, emozione dopo emozione. Una linea capace di unire le location che ospiteranno i nostri concerti, diverse per luogo e storicità, sulla quale scorrerà solo e nient’altro che musica. L’organizzazione dell’arte, anche musicale, è paradossalmente una scienza esatta e ben precisa,fatta di processi definiti e pianificati che richiedono professionalità, etica, onestà intellettuale e soprattutto rispetto delle idee altrui. Questo festival è per coloro che mi hanno dimostrato affetto e a chi con gesti e parole ma ha trasmesso la forza di realizzare una nuova sfida come veramente la vedono i miei occhi.

La promozione dell’arte, della cultura e del territorio è sicuramente uno degli elementi che legano questa Amministrazione al Circolo Cecinese Fe.na.l.c. “Florio castellani”.
Numerose e qualitativamente importanti sono le attività svolte dalla Federazione locale fin dalla sua nascita nel 1996.
In questi quindici anni, il Circolo ha infatti promosso e organizzato nuove mostre, concorsi, manifestazioni e gite che hanno coinvolto i cittadini di Cecina e quelli dei Comuni limitrofi contribuendo in maniera significativa allo sviluppo e alla crescita culturale e sociale della nostra città.

New music at the junior high school Gallilei in Cecina

Thanks to the collaboration between a private individual, the Geiger Foundation, a private junior high school and a music school, an educational project with the aim to teach music to the students has become reality. At a moment like this with all the daily cuts to the culture and public departments this is not a trivial matter.

This year the evenings of 4-8 August in Cecina will be devoted to culture in an “Etruscan Coast Literary Festival” to be called the “Park of Authors”. It will take place in the beautiful park of the Villa Guerrazzi, at Località La Cinquantina in Cecina (Livorno). It is being organised by the city of Cecina with the artistic organisation by the Associazione Culturale Aruspicina, the support of the Fondazione Hermann Geiger and the patronage of the Region of Tuscany, the Province of Livorno and the Chamber of Commerce. Every day from 5 pm to midnight there will be presentations of books and talks on a wide range of subjects; every day the park will house 6 literary cafés where writers and journalists will take turns to talk about their books.

This show performed by children from local schools has been made possible through sponsorship from the Fondazione Geiger as part of the initiative promoted by the local government of Cecina in support of the 2010 season at the Teatro De Filippo in Cecina.

“WITH BODY AND MIND”: Project for the integration of disabled children. The project is divided into three courses, of which we are supporting the second relating to multimedia: this will enable us to equip all three structures in the district with appropriate tools that can be used in a meaningful and self-motivated way by disabled pupils and enable them to achieve significant results.
